For the Pinkerton Labs:
- From the GUI or the command line, run:
C:\dell\drivers\R52284\CPanel\setup.exe
- Choose the defaults (if any), and restart Windows as instructed.
- After the restart, there should be an red and white ATI icon in the
tray to the right of the task bar -- click on it.
You should see several menu items.
- Select the Settings one.
This corresponds to the Control Panel's Display applet's Settings tab.
- Click on the Advanced... button.
- Click on the Displays tab.
You should see two monitors displayed, with a power-button-like button in
the upper left hand corner.
- The "power button" button will probably be red for the second monitor --
click on it to activate it, then click the Apply button.
If the second monitor is really powered on (turn it on if not), you should
see the same display on both monitors.
- To spread the display across both monitors, click the thick right
arrow button at the bottom of a monitor picture.
Which one you use depends on how the cables are physically connected.
Follow the prompts and choose the one that fits your needs.
- Apply the changes, perhaps naming the scheme to "Dual Monitors" and
saving it for easier use.
Under construction...
