• New and old computers

  The lab assistants (Thanh Nhan and James Gordon) and I (Stephen Rondeau) spent the last few weeks of 2001 and the first week of 2002 preparing for Winter 2002. That meant setting up three new labs (SCI106/108/113) with 78 computers and all associated hardware and software, as well as re-initializing the 33 computers in DOU110.

  There are new computers in SCI106/108 available for general use and old, surplus computers running Linux for TCSS437 and TCSS460 in SCI113.

  As you may recall, the old library lab in LIB222a is no longer in use. The computers that were there now reside in SCI108.

• New printers

  Two new printers are available -- one in SCI106 (\\css1\sci106_hp4100a) and one in SCI108 (\\css1\sci108_hp4100a). To add them to your list of available printers, read the Adding a Printer documentation.
